An ongoing project to update what was originally 10,000+ print dictionary entries that is now available for the first time online. Since priority is being given to writing entries for ships currently in commission, many of the entries from the original print volumes may be incomplete or out-dated. The text of this published glossary of abbreviations was prepared shortly after the close of World War II. Fifty-nine words which originally appeared in an addenda page have been integrated in the main text of the document.
