General Research Question

How do I find environmental factors that would impact the industry or specific competitors. I wasn't really sure how if one would go about researching this information? I've tried the External Environment links but I am not really sure as to what to search for.

    You can try taking your publicly traded competitors and looking at their SEC filings in Mergent and or lexis. This might give you an idea what they are facing. see the slide show for a good example of this. Otherwise, Marketline, MarketInsight, and Mintel can help as well.
